The Hollywood Theatre at Portland International Airport is a free 22-seat free microcinema showcasing short films by Pacific Northwest filmmakers post-security within Concourse C of PDX. The programming is updated quarterly.
Currently featured film programming at PDX can be found here.
The Hollywood Theatre at PDX International Airport originally opened on February 23, 2017. The microcinema hosts a bevy of short films by Pacific Northwest filmmakers, with the program refreshing with new films every quarter.
As part of the exciting transformation of PDX, the Hollywood worked with its longtime partners at the Port of Portland and determined that a new location for the microcinema would be needed due to the new configuration of the terminal. The theatre can be found in Concourse C, near gate C-13 (previously C-5). Volunteer Steve Colburn, along with Control 4 and Triad Speakers, led the relocation with a generous amount of donated equipment and services.
Upon reopening, the microcinema can now accommodate 22 guests (up from 17 previously) and features an upgraded audiovisual system with 4K projection and Dolby Atmos sound.

The Hollywood Theatre is a not-for-profit, three-screen historic movie house in Portland, Oregon. Its mission is to entertain, educate, inspire and connect the community through the art of film while preserving a historic Portland landmark. Since 1997, the Hollywood has earned a national reputation for a unique combination of award-winning film and event programming and fiscal sponsorship services for local filmmakers. In 2018, after a successful crowdfunding campaign, the Hollywood took over operations of legendary Portland video store Movie Madness and its collection of more than 80,000 movie titles. The mission of the Port’s Art Program is to provide a portal into the dynamic cultural life of our region and provide a showcase for Northwest expression. Exhibits at PDX feature the best of our area’s painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, and other visual artists… but where would Oregon be without its filmmakers?
Oregon is home to renowned film festivals in Bend, Bandon, McMinnville, and Portland. In 2016, Portland welcomed the fifth annual Northwest Animation Fest. Popular television show like Grimm, The Librarians, and Portlandia film here regularly, and the list of feature films created in Oregon is endless!
At PDX, we’re embracing and celebrating film with the Hollywood Theatre at PDX in Concourse C bringing the diverse works of our regional filmmakers to the traveling public.
Films screened at the Hollywood Theatre at PDX are G-rated short-format programs on a looping reel. That means passengers of all ages can stop, relax to enjoy a short film or two and then move along to catch their flights. The sad news? The theater is located post-security, accessible only to ticketed passengers. The good news? It’s free.
